MicroClarity OPC UA Server

MicroClarity OPC UA Server unifies data from Allen-Bradley ControlLogix PLCs, Siemens S7 PLCs, Modbus, BACnet, existing OPC UA servers, and MQTT brokers into a single, secure OPC UA endpoint. It normalizes these heterogeneous data sources and presents them through a consistent OPC UA address space.

Overview

MicroClarity OPC UA Server acts as a central data hub between field devices, building automation systems, and higher-level applications such as SCADA, MES, historians, and cloud analytics platforms. It connects to a wide range of data sources — including Allen-Bradley ControlLogix PLCs, Siemens S7 PLCs, Modbus devices, BACnet controllers, other OPC UA servers, and MQTT brokers — and exposes all of them in a unified OPC UA model.

Each physical or logical data source is represented as a Device in the server’s address space. Under each Device, you define nested Groups (for areas, subsystems, or functional blocks) and Items (for individual tags or points such as temperatures, setpoints, and statuses). This hierarchy forms the OPC UA address space in MicroClarity OPC UA Server, making it easy for OPC UA clients to browse, discover, and understand the structure of your system.

OPC UA clients connect once to MicroClarity OPC UA Server and gain uniform access to all configured data, regardless of the original protocol. They can browse the Device / Group / Item hierarchy, subscribe to data changes, and perform read/write operations using standard OPC UA services. The complexity of proprietary protocols is hidden behind a consistent OPC UA interface.
